Questions people ask

01Is a Khata Kavach bill a pakka bill?

Traders use "pakka bill" for a full numbered bill with the seller's details; some mean one with tax shown. A Khata Kavach bill is a numbered bill on your letterhead. It does not split out tax, so it is not a GST tax invoice. Petrol and diesel are outside GST; for the bill your state needs, ask your chartered accountant.

02Which of these words does Khata Kavach use on screen?

The Pump app says "Credit left" (लिमिट में बचा) and "Money received" (पैसे मिले), and shows what is still owed. The Transporter app shows the credit left and what the transporter owes, in plain words.

03Does Khata Kavach add interest to what a transporter owes?

No. Khata Kavach keeps the account. It never lends, never holds money and adds no interest. Agree any interest on late payment in writing before the sale. Where nothing is agreed, a court decides Interest Act 1978, s.3.
