Vyapar and myBillBook vs Khata Kavach: billing app or credit book?

Short answer

Vyapar and myBillBook are billing and accounting apps: GST invoices, stock and party ledgers. Khata Kavach is a shared credit book for petrol pumps that give diesel on credit to regular transporters. Some pumps use both: GST invoices from billing software, the credit at the nozzle and the shared record from Khata Kavach. Facts about the two apps were checked on 19 October 2026.

MDG Services makes Khata Kavach, so this page comes from the maker of one of the apps it may mention. It is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Facts about other apps are taken from their own websites and app listings on the date shown and can change, so check them there before you decide.

Billing app or credit book?

Vyapar and myBillBook are built for billing and accounting: GST invoices, e-invoices, e-way bills, stock and party ledgers. Khata Kavach does one job: diesel and petrol that a pump gives on credit to regular transporters, kept in one record that both sides see.

Where the billing apps do more

  • GST invoices, e-invoices, e-way bills, stock, accounting and desktop apps. Khata Kavach has none of these.
  • Reach: both show 10M+ downloads on Google Play (19 October 2026). Khata Kavach is new.

Where Khata Kavach works differently

By default, every credit fill starts with a request from the transporter's phone, one per truck. The nozzle man sees a light before fuel goes in. By default, past the limit a manager's PIN is needed (the owner can choose cash only), and the owner's Today screen lists these fills. A correction is a new line that both sides see.

Which fits

  • GST invoices, stock, accounts: a billing app.
  • Regular transporters who fill diesel on credit: a shared credit book.
  • Both jobs: GST invoices from your billing software; the credit at the nozzle from Khata Kavach. See how a numbered bill differs from a GST tax invoice.

Questions people ask

01Do I need Khata Kavach if I already use Vyapar or myBillBook?

Not if billing is your main need. If regular transporters fill diesel on credit and you want them to ask first and see each fill, a shared credit book does that job.

02Does Khata Kavach make GST invoices?

No. It makes a numbered bill, with a UPI QR once you add your UPI ID, not a GST tax invoice. Keep making your GST invoices in your billing software.

03Can my customer see their balance in these apps?

myBillBook's site says it can share live ledgers. For Vyapar we did not find a customer app on its pages; it sends bills and reminders on WhatsApp. In Khata Kavach the transporter has his own app and sees every fill.
